Tuck Everlasting

I can’t believe that Mae killed the stranger danger and right when she killed the stranger the police saw it.So right now I don’t know what is going to happen. I feel that Mae did the right thing.Because if she didn’t kill the stranger the stranger will do more problems.

  1. I don’t think that she meant to hurt him. I think that she was trying to stop him from taking Winnie. I am not sure if the gun went off by accident or not. There’s not enough textual evidence to support if it was intentional or accidental. I reread that part about three times. It said the gun swung around like in a circle. I am wondering if it went off accidentally. She could have told him to stop first. That’s why I am inclined to believe that it was an accident. What do you think?

  2. I agree with you Stephanie. May did the right thing because the stranger will cause more problems. Like forcing the gril to drink that water.

  3. Yes, she hurt the stranger. She hit him with the butt of the shot gun (the wooden part of the gun near the trigger.) I think the author said it was the strong part of the shot gun. Mae is in quite a pickle (in major trouble) now. She might be going to the gallows!
